Ephesians 1:15-23

This section starts out with, For this reason. In the beginning of this chapter, he says we are chosen, we have redemption of sins. That we have every spiritual blessing in Christ. v.10 All things under one head, even Christ. When we really understand this we get a brand new identity.

In the second part of the chapter, the eyes of our heart should be enlightened. v.18 the Greek verb is constantly enlightened. The believers hope is not a vague feeling but a certainty, an assurance. The visual image would be the symbol of an anchor.

It is the inheritance that we are to God, and as we die to ourselves we become living sacrifices to God. When the Son is inside of us, we have great value to God. There is power in even what we say. v.19

The word power here dunamis, comes from the same root word as dynamite. The second word, power is kratos which is used only in relation to God.

The word mighty is, in the Greek,
ischus,

We are the expression of Christ on the earth, His fulness is us. (Ephesians 1:23)

Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.” St. Francis of Assisi

If we had the same attitude that David had, he took charge and said, Who is this uncircumcised Phillistine? God gives us the ability to not see the physical things that others see. We can see more of God's power in Job 26:7-14

Job describes many amazing things and then refers them to the outer fringe of his works.
