The Tabernacle -- The Holy Place

The Golden Candlestick--South Side
to the left of the priest

Exodus 25:31-36
Stood on the floor and was higher than the priest. Fashioned out of one piece of Gold.
Ephesians 5:30
The hammering reminds us of the sufferings Our Lord endured at the hands of men.
The rod of Aaron was dead and budded and brought forth life. A clear picture of Jesus.
John 8:12
Matthew 5:15-16
Pure olive oil was to be used for the light. Gethsemane means oil or olive press. The oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit as the Spirit illuminates the Word.
Heb 12:6
John 15:2
The Candlestick was the only light in the Holy Place, just as in the heavenly city there is no other light needed.

The Table of Showbread--North Side
to the right of the priest

Exodus 25:23-26,28,30
This is the first use of the work table in the Bible. This is a table of fellowship or communion.
Psalm 23:5
John 6:25-63
John 12:24
The 12 loaves of bread represent the 12 tribes of Israel.
Only Priests could eat the showbread.
1 Cor 10:21

The Golden Altar of Incense
straight ahead of the priest
E
xodus 30:1-3
Incense was special and only used for God. Only one thing--this special incense was to be burned on the altar. This speaks of the ministry of Jesus.

Summary of the Holy Place
Many Christians never venture from the outer court.
