Prayer Requests

June 1, 2005

Hi Guys,

I want a prayer request to go out but couldn't get it on the blog. I came home last night and heard a tragic message on our machine. Good friends of ours from NH whose son is good friends with Tanya called to tell us the son was killed in Colorado Monday morning. He was training for a cycling race on Rt 36 in Boulder and was struck by a car and died at the scene. We feel like we've been hit by a Mack truck...Our friends, the Kornfields, asked for prayer(they are all Christians, including the son). They were heading out yesterday to Denver....

Thanks, Kate (scroll down for more)

From Phil & Wendy:

Hi friends,
In our continuing saga... the latest news and prayer needs.
- Praise God! We are negotiating with a multinational for a roll-out of our software in several countries starting in June.
- Pray that proposals are formally accepted and cash starts to flow with no delay!
- Praise God! We present to a group of "angel" investors today. Our 3rd time with this group so there's real interest.
- Pray that the right "angel" investor makes a decision for us. If we actually get financing, there's a matching grant from the State of New Jersey.
- Praise God! A 2nd multinational is interested.
- Pray for presentations next week and a clear "go" from them. We've been working with them for over 2 years.
- Pray - Our "beta" customer has had a major downsizing and won't need our software. So we may be without a viable reference site again.
- Praise God! A federal agency supporting manufacturing in the US may recommend our software.
- Pray that we can get through the government bureaucracy and get their support. Personally, we have survived financially by cutting way back on spending but have some big bills coming (property taxes!). We've been "paid" only through February. We are really, really tight right now but it feels like there's a real chance to get regular income soon. I am holding out hope
and stretching till then. Please pray for a substantial breakthrough on any (or better all) fronts. We are really weary of all this instability and both of us are getting over being sick. Realistically, we can't continue much longer without having to sell the house and move - something we don't feel is from the Lord. So we need that breakthrough now!
Thank you again for your faithfulness to pray...
Phil

Dear fellow saints,
I want to thank you for your prayers regarding our friends whose son, Scott, was killed. It has been a very difficult time and will continue to be so for a long time. Pete and I went to a service in NH on Saturday which was quite emotional... It's hard to fathom burying your child... They have a strong faith but will need prayer to carry on. Please pray for their other son, Todd, who is also in CO who is devastated, the widow who is not a Christian, and best friend who was on his honeymoon when he got the news...We trust God is in control but this is a hard one to wrap our minds around...
