The Breastplate of Righteousness

Today we talked about the Breastplate of Righteousness (Ephesians 6:14). It is part of the spiritual armor that protects the core of who we are. It is where Satan wants to attack us, and where we are most vulnerable. The righteousness is Jesus' righteousness, and we have put on His Righteousness by accepting Him and being cleansed of our sins.

As believers we are to put on His Righteousness and that enables us to deny our flesh(Romans 13:14).

We also brought up the book The Three Battlegrounds by Francis Frangipane. The battlegrounds are the Mind, the Church and the Heavenly places (or spiritual realms). All this talk of armor and battle brought up imagery of soldiers and of their discipline and dedication. How do we compare in our spiritual lives? Can we compare our dedication to that of the soldier? If we are asked to worship another idol, like in the book of Daniel, can we stand and be firm and say no (Daniel 3:18)? If not...

We should start our day by acknowledging our Creator. "With new levels, there are new devils." This tells us the battle will go on in yet another dimension. (Phil 1:6 )

Every soldier needs his basic training. The extended preparation prior to the battle is a necessity
(Eph 4:22-24).

Finally, we studied the Greek word for righteousness (dikaiosune). It means "equity of character or act. Justification."

Before we started praying, we met a new member of the Life Group, Bob.

We then said goodbye and prayed for Sarah, Fran and Paul. They are all leaving us to go to Florida and Virginia. God bless all of you, and we will be praying for you!
